Announcing the Winners:
All Category Winners and Overall Winners will be announced on Thursday 19 Nov 2015 & Fri 20 Nov 2015 @ Photo & Film Expo at The AIA Discussion Area.
The winner of Each category will be decided as follow:
- Wedding and Non wedding – The top 5 image scores from each contestant will be counted for a final score. We will only count the two highest non-wedding day scores as the emphasise is to award the best wedding photographer.
- Album Design – Top rated album selected by the judges.
- Cinematography – The top 2 short film scores from each contestant will be counted for a final score.
- People and Portraits – The top 3 image scores from each contestant will be counted for a final score to decide the winner.
Each of the sub category winners 2nd and third prizes up will receive a certificate and a medal with.
Images needed to be submitted in Hi-Res (Print JPEG’s) Min Size 3mb – Max Size 32mb.
Contestant may need to provide the RAW / Unedited Image if requested. Only images taken from 1 Jan 2014 – 31 October 2015 will be allowed for 2014/2015 awards.
You may enter as many images/films/albums as you want in the competition, but you can’t enter the same item into two different categories.
Images entered in the Wedding category must be made on the day that the ceremony was performed. Exif data of winning entries will be checked.
All other wedding images not created on the wedding day will need to be entered in the non wedding day category.
The photographer or cinematographer must have been officially commissioned by the subjects to record their event. Second shooters who have been contracted by the main photographer/cinematographer may enter their work with written consent of the commissioned photographer/cinematographer.
A second shooter may not enter an image where the main photographer directed or posed the subjects.
Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry.
By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted entry is an original work created solely by the entrant. The entry does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph/film/album.
The entry must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsors, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. Entries deemed inappropriate will be disqualified.
Entries into the Wedding and Portrait divisions must have been created from one single capture (with the exception of multiple exposures of the same subject matter to achieve HDR, for example, in the Wedding and Portrait divisions).
Texture screens are allowed on images.
Non-photographic filters and actions produced by third parties that enhance characteristics of an image but do not add elements to an image are permitted in all divisions except the Photojournalism division. Non-photographic graphic elements like text, patterns, frames and motifs are only allowed in the album category.
